Frederick Jackson Clark

Frederick Jackson Clark was born in 1826 in Union District South Carolina to Littleton Ballard Clark and Hannah Vinson Jackson. By 1848, he had moved to Tuscaloosa County Alabama where he met and married Georgia Obedience Ledlow, daughter of James Ledlow and Jane Sarah Sims.

Georgia was born sometime between 1824 and 1833. Her age was never the same in any record. But her first child James Ballard Clark was born in 1849 in Tuscaloosa Alabama, so it doubtful that she was only 14 when she married. Frederick was a cobbler and moved to Texas sometime between 1860 when the family is found in the census for Tuscaloosa and 1880 when he and his wife and their daughter Eliza appear in the census for Paris, Texas. (This researcher was unable to locate the family in the 1870 census)
He died in 1899 and was buried in the Old City Cemetery in Paris Texas. His wife Georgia lived for twenty more years and is buried next to him.
