Richard S. Lyles

1st Lieutenant

Co. H, 10th Texas Cavalry

Richard S. Lyles was my wife's great grandfather. He was killed in action on March 31, 1865, presumably at Mobile Ala, having just received the rank of Captain as a result of the death of Capt T.W. Summers. A friend from his unit returned his New Testament Bible to his wife in Rusk County after the war.
