Larry Rhea Sr

Larry Rhea, Sr.

Many years ago when the internet was young, Larry Rhea, Sr. had a vision that genealogy would become a huge part of the internet. He offered me webspace for a Lamar County website and has been there for us since 1996. Sometimes he and I learned together, but no matter what kind of problem I brought to him, he jumped in and figured it out. The very first problem was when I tried to figure out how to get that very first webpage off my computer and onto the internet. I finally copied the page to a disc and got in the car and drove to Starnet. I walked in and asked Larry, Sr. how to do it. He laughed and said he didn't know either, so yelled for Larry, Jr. to come show us. And show us he did. From that one small webpage, the website has grown to over 1,000 pages. It is with deep sorrow that we have had to move our site to a new server, but also with deep gratitude for the 21 years of support that we have received from Larry Rhea, Sr. and Starnet.
